Hampshire Guitar Orchestra's
hago has played concerts every year since we began in 1999, raising over £56,000 for local charities on the way.
And now we have a very special milestone to celebrate - our 100th concert!
Our concert was part of the week-long Portsmouth Festivities - our special guests were our good friends Cambridge Guitar Orchestra, led by Peter Rueffer.
concert photo & video memento
As well as a concert filled with the sweet sounds of two guitar orchestras, there were refreshments, a raffle and a lucky programme draw.
Proceeds from the raffle went to Havant Women's Aid.

hago's Musical Director Derek Hasted with a Roman Helmet.
With the best will in the world, it didn't add much to our
most tender love song of the event...
...whereas our gift to Peter Reuffer of an elegant Pith Helmet fitted perfectly with our premiere of Whispering Grass, even if the helmet didn't fit perfectly.
Besides it was only fitting to give Peter the pith after years of taking it...

CGO in action
CGO have played concerts with hago every year since 2002 - find out more in our CGO feature.
We don't know what made CGO think that this gift, so kindly presented, would make Derek's jokes funnier - they can judge when we meet up in 2013
As we bid farewell to our 100th concert and to our good friends CGO, enjoy this little memento - When The Guitar Sings
