Farewell, zeitgeist
It's with a heavy heart that we have closed the Zeitgeist section of our website.
It all began in late 2004 when our Musical Director found a way of listing those odd Google searches that ended up at www.hago.org.uk purely because one of our webpages had all the search words somewhere in the text. The visits were all the more curious because the Google search result was obviously about guitars (yes, we checked them all!) But it didn't deter people from clicking through and being invariably very disappointed indeed.
We thought it would be a great wheeze to list the oddest search terms, and so we set up the Zeitgeist pages - growing each month with the most amusing search terms that found our site.
So far, so good
Unfortunately ... Google started to match our brand new Zeitgeist pages to search terms made out of arbitrary combinations of the bizarre search terms from the previous month!
It was only a matter of time before the Zeitgeist pages were attracting as many confused searchers as the rest of our site was attracting guitar-related queries.
Time to stop!
Besides, now that we have reorganised our website, it's no longer possible for you to verify that those search terms really did come to our site. And we don't want you to doubt our artistic integrity.
