About Hayling Island United Reformed Church
Following damage in the Second World War, the original Church was torn down and the current building erected in its place, opening its doors in 1956. Two Church Halls are attached to the Church itself and provide a chance to stretch ones legs and enjoy the interval refreshments.
Travel directions
Arriving by train
The nearest station is Havant. From here either a taxi ride or bus journey is needed for the remaining 5.5 miles.
Arriving by bus
Number 30 and 31 buses stop in Mengham, a one minute walk from the Church, but the service is poor late at night and you should check an up to date timetable before planning your journey.
Arriving by car
Make for the A27 that joins Chichester and the top of Portsmouth. At the Havant Flyover, take the southbound A3023 Langstone Rd onto Hayling Island. After 3.5 miles, the road bears right and comes to a small roundabout. Turn left here into Church Road, which leads into Elm Grove. When you have passed most of the shops, there is a right turn into Hollow Lane. The Church is immediately on the right but has limited parking. There is a public car-park just past the Church.
